WeightLess Project

We live in a world where balance is desperately needed. On one hand, nearly 2.8 million people die each year due to obesity-related causes. On the other hand, over 6 million children perish from starvation, lacking even the most basic sustenance. This stark contrast underscores the deep inequities in our global society, where the excess of one side is painfully mirrored by the deficiency of the other.

Enter the Weightless Project (Weightless)—an initiative designed to bridge these two disconnected realities. Weightless recognizes that what one group seeks to shed, another group urgently needs. By forging partnerships with leading global health and fitness brands like FitBit, Jawbone, and Basis, Weightless turns individual health efforts into a force for global good. Working with different CSR initiatives, there are sponsors who are willing to donate on behalf of their employee and provide this as a health and wellbeing initiative and motivation to their employees.

The concept is straightforward yet powerful: participants sign up for the Weightless Project online and track their calorie burn using wearable devices such as FitBit, Jawbone, or Basis. For every 1,000 calories burned, Weightless contributes $1 to help feed the hungry through the Chopra Foundation. This initiative doesn’t just promote personal health; it also directs much-needed funds to those battling hunger.

What we did

CeeGees and Happy Creatives collaborated closely to set the platform for Dr. Deepak Chopra’s launch at the Salesforce Summit. The project’s timelines were of the utmost importance, and as the wearable industry was still in its infancy, working with several suppliers to obtain reliable data in a standardised format was a difficult task that we had to overcome.

The campaign’s impact was immediate, with the initial funds raised directed towards aiding the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, which devastated the Philippines. The Weightless Project is more than just a fitness challenge; it’s a call to action to restore balance in a world that so urgently needs it.

i got confused it will expand to further readings—- better to rename to related links or articles
